The Kingdom of Power

Hello Friends, This Sunday on Radio Horeb in Europe I am speaking on the theme, “Seek the Kingdom of God.”  Jesus tells us to seek first for the kingdom, but many Christian people have no idea of what the kingdom is or how to seek it. Some think it means heaven, others think it refers to their church, and others to the reign of Christ on earth. But here is one thing I know: the kingdom of God has to do with the power of God, not our church affiliation, doctrine, or theology. The kingdom of God does not consist in word, but in power (1 Corinthians 4:20). Consider the experience of...

What Is The Kingdom of God?

In 1985, when my husband was  in depression again, I found it very painful. One morning I knelt beside our bed and poured out my heart to the Lord. I found myself praying, “Lord, will you send Frans to us?” Who was Frans? An ordinary engineer who lived in Europe, Franz Schadee (Bible Mission International) had been touched by the Lord in a Billy Graham Crusade and sensed God’s direction to take food, warm clothing, and Bibles to people on the other side of the Iron Curtain. Your Five Favorite Words for 2018?

I like to ask people to choose five favorite words that they like to say, think about, or feel attracted to. Then I ask them to review their list and choose their most favorite one. Over the years, I’ve seen that our “favorite words” can offer us a clue as to what we need in order to become the spiritually mature, whole, and fulfilled person God planned for us to be. Here are some words that my friends are choosing this year: grace, joy, love, responsibility, presence, peace, repentance, balance, unfolding, beautiful, transparency, humble, kind, respectful, movement,...

Prayer: “Lord, Set Us Free”

Violence and chaos are trying to rule our cities and highways. People are living in fear. The media is lying to us. So too our films from Hollywood. Our bodies are addicted to all manner of evil; illicit sexual practices, fantasies out of control, porn, gambling, etc. Our hearts are filled with deep-seated anger, bitterness, hatred, rage, and rebellion, often leading to self-destructive impulses. A sense of rejection, guilt, poor self-esteem, unworthiness, and shame. Our churches are filled with believers who are hurting through the activity of evil spirits. Often areas of their lives are in...

Dreams Provide Us Divine Counsel

Early in our spiritual journey my husband, Jerry, and I discovered that the dream is not merely a meaningless response to sense stimuli during sleep. From a biblical standpoint, the dream presents a way for God to speak directly to His people while they slumber in their beds. One type of message God uses the dream for is to give us divine counsel. According to Psalms 16:7, we can expect to receive wise counsel, even during the wee hours when our brain is not conscious. During sleep the mind may be turned off, but the spirit is still active, listening as the Creator offers us guidance and...
