Why is it that God is always calling His people out? He spoke to Abraham and said,” Come out from among your brethren.” Later He called His people to be different from the people of the world. In the New Covenant, he tells us to come out from among them and be not like them.
Hence, let us go out to him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come (Hebrews 12:13-14).
Over and over the Bible points out the same thing. The people who want to really ‘know’ Him must come out. They must be a seeking people. They must be a hungry, thirsty people. They must be a people who are willing to leave old paths behind and walk in new paths. They must be a people of faith, seeking something that this world does not have to give them.
What do you need to come out from?
What does come out from among them mean to you? Are there things God wants you to leave behind? Are there some people who are not good for you that you need to say good-by to? Are there some childish things still working in your life that you need to let go of.
Is it time for you to find a different church and new friends? I found many people were intimidated or hurt by church authority, pastors, ministers and priests. We should respect them, but they should also respect us.
Recently, i read a book that spoke of the need to bring some people out of religion, because it is keeping them from becoming spiritual. But others sometime need to find a religious experience before they will experience a spiritual birth. May God give us the wisdom to know what is best for us.
Going out or being called means God has some design for your life, some purpose for you to fulfill. Do you want to fulfill it? If you do not, tell Him so then He can call someone else who is willing.
What is He calling you to?
If God is calling you out, what is He calling you to? There must be a need there and you are the perfect person to fill it. One thing I know, we can trust the Holy Spirit! He knows what He is doing even though we don’t.
God is always calling people out; it is an ongoing call. Some people will respond, but others don’t. What are you doing about it? Or maybe you haven’t decided yet.
