New Zoom Group: Nurturing Spiritual Growth and Strengthening Faith

An Invitation

Because of what is going on in our world, I invite you to join our new online interactive group for the purpose of nurturing spiritual growth and strengthening our faith during this difficult time.

This group begins immediately, starting this Friday, April 3, at 1 pm EST (UTC–05) (19:00 Uhr Germany). We have scheduled group meetings for the next eight Fridays, through May 22.

How It Works

We will use Zoom (https://zoom.us/) for group meetings. Note that this is not a webinar; it is an interactive online group, more informal and allowing you to communicate with other group members.

As the meeting Host, I will lead the group, guide our discussion and sharing, and facilitate personal prayer and ministry.

Group size and length

The group will be limited to fifteen (15) people to allow for interactive discussion. Group meetings will be 90–120 minutes.

Cost

There is no fee for the group, but anyone who would like to make a donation to our ministry (Kairos Ministries, Inc.) can do it using PayPal through my website (https://www.judithdoctor.com).

How To Sign Up

To sign up, simply send me an email saying, YES, you want to join this group. We will send you the link to the Zoom meeting and the meeting ID. Please use this email address: (judith@judithdoctor.com).
If you are unable to join us for any of the scheduled meetings or choose to drop out, please email me.

Technical Requirements

You can participate from any laptop or mobile device. You listen and speak on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop (headset highly recommended to minimize background noises).

The Zoom App download is free. For mobile devices you download the Zoom Mobile App from your App Store. For laptops you download the Zoom Client for Meetings from the Zoom website. (If you need help with computer download, please go to this page: https://judithdoctor.com/help-with-zoom/)

Technical support

My husband, Gerald, will participate with me during the group meetings and provide technical support. Working with Zoom seems overwhelming at first, but from our experience we assure you it is not very complicated.

Gerald can help you get started with Zoom and also if you have issues during the group meeting. Almost all the control during a meeting is done at my laptop—you just have to listen, observe, and (if you desire) talk. We’ll start slowly until we all get the hang of it.

Turning Up the Light

A few days ago, several people in our park asked me how I am doing now, seven months after my accident. One woman said, “Whenever I see you riding your trike, my faith in prayer is strengthened.” Another man said, “You have such a wonderful enthusiasm within you.” I knew what he meant.

As believers, we carry the life of God, and His life will sustain us in the most trying of times. Here is a blog I wrote seven years ago about turning up the light of God within us: https://judithdoctor.com/turn-up-the-light/

Blessings,

Judith Doctor
